Code of Ethics

In my willingness to promote awareness of ethics within my kinesiology circle, and myself, I will do my best to:

  • Conduct business and professional activities with integrity, in a professional, honest, and fair manner.
  • Honour my personal commitment to my profession through compassion, caring, and love for myself, my fellow beings and our world.
  • Accept responsibility to maintain my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
  • I am responsible in realising my own truth and encourage others to do the same.
  • Acknowledge the inherent worth and individuality of each person by honoring clients’ religious, spiritual, health, education, political and social views, and life choices, not judge, blame or discriminating against, race, creed, colour, gender, and sexual orientation and never impose my beliefs on others.
  • Respect that each of us is our own authority and no person can decide for another.
  • Respect the right to free thought and free will and I will refuse all forms of dogma.
  • Recognise that the responsibility for choice before, during, and after a balance is the prerogative of the person with whom I work.
  • Acknowledge that the purpose of kinesiology is to support and reinforce the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
  • Acknowledge that the muscle test is a bio-feedback mechanism and does not take the place of rational thought, feelings, choice or decisions.
  • Strive for professional excellence through ongoing assessment of personal strengths, limitations and effectiveness, and by continued education and training.
  • I will respect the professional status of other kinesiologists and other health care practitioners.
  • Acknowledge the confidential nature of the professional relationship with my client. I will respect each client’s right to privacy, disclosing confidential information only when either authorised by the client or mandated by law.
  • Not use the practitioner-client relationship to gain social, sexual or other personal advantage.
  • Facilitate the knowing participation, awareness and growth of the person.
  • Never represent myself as a medical doctor and refrain from diagnosing, prescribing, or treating any medical disorder unless licensed to do so or possess the appropriate qualifications.
  • Perform only those services for which I am qualified and represent my education, certifications, professional affiliations and other qualifications honestly. I will make a referral, when appropriate and if possible.
  • Acknowledge that my own development, personally and professionally, enhances the value of what I am able to offer to my clients. The foundation of ethical conduct is being mindful of and discerning in my thoughts, feelings, words and behaviors. I will strive to include mindfulness and discernment in my personal and professional goals.
  • Conduct of my business and associations, I am and continue to be guided by the above ethics.
